Recommendations for Out-of-Town Visitors
Hotels. There are many hotels along El Camino Real, such as the Hilton Garden Inn, Residence Inn by Marriott, and Hyatt Centric Mountain View. More budget-friendly options include the Comfort Inn and Oak Motel. While all of these are fairly close in distance, it takes about 30 minutes to walk to Etz Chayim because you must cross train tracks at a major intersection. We recommend driving.
Public transportation. In general, public transportation in the Bay Area is not great. However, Etz Chayim is only a 15 minute walk from the San Antonio Caltrain station.
Restaurants. Dinner is on your own 6:30-8:30. We like the following restaurants:
- Sajj, build your own Mediterranean bowls
- The Counter, custom burgers
- Pacific Catch, sit-down seafood
- Chef Chu's, family-run Chinese
- Green Elephant Gourmet, Burmese
- Cascal, Spanish tapas
- Happy Lamb, hot pot
If you look on Yelp, try places in the San Antonio Shopping Center or on Castro Street in Mountain View.
